What is within reach of Sosúa
Sosúa is small enough to walk and central enough to use as a base. These are the places our guests actually ask us to drive them to.
Playa Sosúa
The town's main bay: a horseshoe of calm, reef-sheltered water lined with beach restaurants. Snorkelling starts a few metres from the sand, which is why Sosúa is where most people on this coast learn to dive.
Playa Alicia
A quieter cliff-backed beach a short walk from the centre. Fewer vendors, better mornings, and the easiest swim in Sosúa if you want the water to yourself.
Sosúa Jewish Museum
Sosúa exists in its modern form because in 1940 the Dominican Republic took in Jewish refugees fleeing Europe and settled them here. The small museum and the wooden synagogue beside it tell that story — the most surprising half hour in town.
Cabarete

Puerto Plata & the cable car
The teleférico climbs Pico Isabel de Torres for the view over the whole bay. Add Fort San Felipe, the Amber Museum and the Victorian houses of the old centre and it is a comfortable half day.
Charcos de Damajagua
Limestone pools you climb up and then jump and slide back down. The single most requested excursion from Sosúa, and the one people talk about for years afterwards.
